Over one million students have taken the LAP's Michigan History program.
85% of Michigan's elementary schools are currently using this curriculum.
The students enjoy learning Michigan history through its State Parks.
Cartoon character developed by Mark Herrick and EDCO were used in this program -
Forrest Trails, Sandy Dunes, The Great Lakes Kids, and The LAP's Ants - Antonio and Abbigail.
This 2'x 3' box was packed with posters and cartoon booklets on Michigan's History and its state parks. It was sent out to more than 7,000 elementary schools in Michigan.
OUTDOOR EXPLORERS CLUB
A quarterly newsletter went out to 50k club members.
MICHIGAN CHRISTMAS TREE GOES TO THE WHITE HOUSE PROJECT:
EDCO and Mark produced a state wide FUN FOLDER for elementary schools
all about the Michigan Christmas Tree that was going to the White House.
Mark and Edna Stephens - Owner of EDCO Publishing, along with the governor of Michigan, attended the Lighting of the Tree Ceremony in Washington.
WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG:
That same year, Mark was honored to paint an Easter Egg for the Washington -
Easter Egg Hunt. The egg is now on display in the President Clinton Memorial Library.
ROCK USA - DEMOCRATIC VALUES CURRICULUM:
The character ROCK USA was created and illustrated by M. J. Herrick.
ROCK USA - CORE OF DEMOCRATIC VALUES
This teaching unit had several large classroom posters and activity guides.
It was developed by EDCO Publishing and illustrated by Mark Herrick.
Several ROCK USA school presentations were given throughout the state of Michigan.
